If you currently train a large, high-drive dog using an RX-120 receiver, you can easily add a smaller, softer dog to your system by pairing a low power RX-070 or low to medium power RX-090 receiver to your existing transmitter, or vice versa.

Here’s a quick guide to help you select the best receiver collar based on your dog’s temperament and training requirements:

RX-090 Small Receiver (Low to Medium Power)

  • Comes standard with models:

  • Most popular. Ideal for dogs with soft to normal temperaments, approximately 90% of dogs.

RX-070 Micro Receiver (Low Power)

  • Comes standard with models:
    • Micro Educator ME-300
  • Designed specifically for smaller dogs or dogs with soft, sensitive temperaments.
  • About 20% smaller, lighter, and less powerful compared to the RX-090.

RX-120 Large Receiver (Low to High Power)

  • Comes standard with models:
    • The Boss Educator ET-800
    • K9 800 Handler K9-800
    • Upland UL-1200
  • Ideal for larger, stubborn, or high-drive dogs.
  • Stimulation levels 1-50 are similar to the RX-090, but approximately 40% more powerful after level 50.

RX-050 FOB Receiver (Low to Medium Power)

  • Identify Your Receiver Model – Check the model number printed between the contact points on the receiver collar.
  • Standard Contact Points Included – Receivers come with standard ⅝” contact points. Shorter or longer points are available separately on our Contact Points page.
